Wind
You wanted to bring me the stars that lit up the purple night sky, but I had always been the sun lighting them up from the distance.
You wanted to bring me roses which grew by the enchanted garden to wreath into my hair, but I always loved the colourful lilies which grew by the muddy pond that no one cared about.
You wanted to watch us plan our future together while we intertwined our fingers, but I always used them for pointing out the future of a self sufficient woman who didn't need you by her side.
You wanted to dance with me under the chandelier whose lights would reflect the love off my eyes, but I knew our wavelengths would never match for you to see.
You wanted to make me yours, but I never took your name as mine to begin with.
You only wanted, yet you never felt.
And that's why today you're staring out the window seeing me everywhere without even realising it.
