Irshya
The doctor shook Vysana out of his reverie. He
had a glum look on his face and spoke in a grave tone. “I’m sorry, Vysana. The
accident took a toll on her as there was a massive impact on the part of her
brain which is concerned with memory. She wouldn’t be able to retain her memory
for longer than a day.” Vysana looked confused and asked for an explanation.
The doctor gave him a pitiful look and repeated Rehasya’s condition.
Vysana
could feel his stomach drop when he finally understood that each day would be
23rd July for his beloved and never beyond that.
And he would have to bear the guilt everyday.
Meanwhile, Irshya removed the glycerine from
her eyes by dabbing a handkerchief and was surprised that the truck didn’t kill
Rehasya. She had, ultimately paid the driver five lakh rupees to get the job
done. She looked at Vysana and asked herself, “What is there in Rehasya that
isn’t there in me? Why did Vysana choose her and not me? Am I not smart? Or
pretty? Or educated?” Her heart burnt with jealousy every time Vysana shed a
tear. She went and tried to console him but Vysana could not restrain himself
anymore and broke down miserably, repeatedly blaming himself for Rehasya’s condition.
Irshya said only one thing to Vysana, which he
didn’t listen to.
“You’re mine, darling. And I will do whatever
it takes to have you.”
