Bhikari Moment

 Children are said to be bundles of innocence and their mindless activities are not minded by the elders at all. But, was there ever a dearth of stupidity on our planet? As Taylor Swift's lyrics in 'Blank Space' say, "Cause we're young and reckless", we all have that one embarrassing childhood moment where our stupidity was so overrated that it probably should have been awarded a Nobel. 

The delivery boy came by today with the pizza and then, he asked me whether I would like some oregano. OREGANO. That one word floods me with embarrassing memories and flustered, I shoo him off after paying him the money. So, when I was in sixth standard, there used to be this Domino's delivery boy who used to come to our building at least thrice a day and he used to carry pouches of oregano and chilli flakes. I had this weird and crazy friend of mine who was infatuated, addicted and obsessed with oregano. She even knew the delivery boy on a personal front just to acquire some oregano! Well, on one hot summer evening, she dragged me to him and gave me a sudden dare to ask him for oregano. Like, whose best friend would give them a sudden dare to go and ask a pizza delivery guy for oregano? Well, my best friend did. Now, people have various fatal flaws and what would my fatal flaw be? Pride. So, I couldn't turn down the challenge as it would insult my guts. I brushed the dirt off my knees and boldly walked up to him. But, my knees turned to jelly when he asked me what did I want from him. I muttered under my breath, "Oregano" and voila! He gave me 6 pouches and I triumphantly took them back to my friend, who was laughing so hard that she had tears in her eyes.

And, that just sums up my "Bhikari Moment". :-P
